The Pentagram is a star with five points centered inside a circle. It is sometimes drawn with a man; arms and legs outstretched covering each point of the star. For such a simple symbol it has continued to cause great controversy. It is the interpretation of the symbol that causes the disturbance. The book of shadows is a compilation of personal spells, chants, lists of herbs and other miscellaneous information that an individual uses for the practice of witchcraft. Originally, the book of shadows received its name when witches were persecuted for their craft. The witch used the Theban alphabet to code their writings. The name that a witch or warlock chooses is the label they will wear when they contact the spirit world, cast spells and engage with other witches/warlocks. The serious spell caster knows that fire is not to be controlled; it is to be respected. Even though a spell seems to be controlling the manner of fire, an inexperienced fire spell castor can cause great damage similar to a camper leaving an unattended campfire.
