Nostradamus Complete Predictions

Nostradamus was a prophet and his predictions are a source of controversy. Nostradamus set his prophesies in four line poems called quatrains and he assembled forty-six of them in compilations called Centuries. Nostradamus or the prophet of doom as he is called seemed to predict only devastating, dire predictions.

Nostradamus’ initial rise to notoriety was in predicting the death of Henry II. The quatrain uses the symbols of young and old lion, golden cage, two mortal wounds and a cruel death. When Henry II chose to duel the Compte de Montgomery the prophecy was fulfilled. Both had shields with lions, Montgomery was the younger. The jousting pole split into two splinters piercing Henry II’s gilded helmet (golden cage). Henry II lived for ten days while in agony and pain before dying thus fulfilling the prophecy of a cruel death.

Nostradamus predicted the rise of Adolf Hitler that lead to World War II. The first quatrain mentions a child will be born to poor people, his speech will lure the multitude, and his kingdom will unite with the east. This is interpreted as Hitler’s alliance with the Japanese and his popularity with the German people.

The second one refers to ferocious beasts led by Hister (Nostradamus listed this instead of Hitler) crossing the river. This is interpreted as Adolf Hitler’s invasion of France.

Nostradamus has been credited with predicting the events of September 11, 2001. His quatrain refers to the year 1999, King of terror from the sky, and two towers falling. Although the year 1999 is written, Nostradamus wrote in anagrams. The year is then interpreted as the date, September 11. The quatrain mentions the great resurgence of the king of the Mongols. The interpretation is that terrorism will once again put its strong presence in world events. The quatrain continues to predict two great rocks will war for a long time and a ship will cover a new river red. The two great warring rocks have been interpreted as the western world versus the Middle East. The ship that turned a river red has not occurred and many theories have been suggested. World power will no longer be held by Western philosophy, Mars the god of war will snuff both sides, or a body of water will become red with the blood of a mass of people.

Nostradamus has predicted the end of the world. The interpretations of those predictions are varied. Some believe that the catastrophic events leading to the end of the world are weather related. The earth will reverse its axis, weather patterns will shift drastically, devastating earthquakes, famine, flood all of these natural disasters will result in the end of the world.

The other interpretation is that the world will end in bloodshed. The two great religions, Christianity and Islam will cause the worlds destruction. There is also mention of a great dragon united against the West. This has been interpreted as China versus the United States.

Nostradamus wrote his prophecies in simple four line quatrains that have had and continue to have far reaching complex interpretations for mankind.
