Psychic Phenomena
November 25, 2008
Psychic phenomena are the receipt of knowledge from no logical source. The term psychic phenomenon covers a broad range of topics. A few examples of psychic phenomena are clairvoyance, telepathy, remote viewing, channeling, tarot card reading, psychic reading, astral projection and telekinesis. These categories of psychic phenomena have different focuses; tarot card reading is a service a psychic offers. Astral projection is a spiritual experience an individual has, but the common thread to all psychic phenomena is that the results of the experience were arrived at by a sense not attached to the physical realm.
Psychic phenomena and intuition are commonly considered interchangeable. Intuition is not the same as psychic phenomena. When someone develops a keen sense of intuition they have derived at their conclusion by logical assumptions. For example, during a psychic reading the client folds their arms across their chest, they are sweating, their breathing rate increases and they cast their eyes downward. The psychic reader intuits that the individual is nervous, a disbeliever and concealing something. This is an example of the psychic readers conclusions from the demeanor of the client.
If the psychic reader says that the individual should be wary of their neighbor, that he is violent, served time for rape. This is an example of psychic phenomena. The psychic reader received this supernatural information from an unexplainable source.
The ability to influence physical space is another form of psychic phenomena. An individual can move an object by the use of their mind. This is called telekinesis. According to the standard definition a body is at rest until a force is acted upon it. An individual moves a pencil across the table with the tip of their finger illustrate this physical law. Where telekinesis alters this definition is when an individual uses their mind to use an invisible force to cause a pencil to roll across the table.
Out of body experience is a form of psychic phenomena where the spirit of an individual leaves the body such as near death experience and astral projection. In both of these instances the individual learns something from an otherworldly source. In the near death experience, the car accident victim sees the paramedics arrive, put them in the ambulance and drive to the hospital, all at a distance from their physical body. In astral projection, the individual leaves the confines of the planet and soars to the outer realms of the astral plane.
Psychic phenomena are not restricted to a chosen few. All people have some level of psychic phenomena. The psychic energy field is available to anyone willing to tap into it. There is no argument that some people are more attuned to psychic phenomena than others, but that attunement lies on the individual rather than the source. The psychic who solves a crime by divining knowledge from a piece of cloth from the victim uses the same energy field of knowledge as a mother who knows her child has been hit by a car across town. Their degree of knowledge is varied, but their psychic phenomena is measured equally.
