Tarot Card Interpretation

Tarot card interpretation is not difficult to learn.
The difficulty lies in learning the significance of the cards that are intended for tarot card interpretation. The novice in the early stages of learning tarot card interpretation must rely heavily on the standard definitions of the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana.
When a box of tarot cards is purchased a booklet will accompany the deck of cards. This booklet outlines in detail the meaning of the individual cards. Factors that influence Tarot card interpretation are the suit (wands, cups swords, pentacles), numerology or ranking of the card (1-9), and Major versus Minor Arcana.
With that said, Tarot card interpretation is best accomplished by the laying down of the cards called spreads. The Celtic cross is the traditional spread. This ancient technique places the cards in a regimented order ranging from one through ten. A modern version of the Celtic cross uses a spread ranging from one through six. This simplified version provides a streamline interpretation of the tarot and this spread is the easiest for beginners to learn. More sophisticated versions of spreads include: the zodiac spread, the category spread and the spiritual spread. An advanced Tarot card reader will develop their own spread; a unique placing of the cards they have developed through years of training.
Placement of the cards is the lifeblood of the tarot card interpretation. If a client’s reading reveals the Ace of Pentacles as the first card, the tarot card interpretation is that she will be at a new beginning in reference to her question. If she asked, “What’s in store for my love life?” This placement of the Ace of Pentacles would reveal that her love life is in the beginning stages, new, unproved territory.
If the Ace of Pentacles were placed at the end of her reading the tarot card interpretation would reveal that an established relationship is experiencing new beginnings. The couple might be buying a house or recommitting to their relationship. In the first example, the relationship is new. In the second example, the experiences the couple shares will be new ones. The placement of the cards in the Tarot interpretation defines the message sent to the client.
Proximity of cards is another critical factor in Tarot card interpretation. If the Queen of Swords were placed next to The Ace of Pentacles this would tell the Tarot card interpreter that a ruthless, emotionally cold, calculating woman is very close to the client’s relationship. This woman could be a sister, mother, wife or ex-girlfriend. What is not debatable for the tarot card interpretation is that the Queen of Swords reveals that the influence is female; she’s cold, unemotional, practical and independent. This detailed analysis of the Queen of Swords was listed in the booklet that was purchased with the deck of Tarot cards.
Tarot card interpretations are used for entertainment, daily individual guidance, spiritual guidance or serious guidance for confused souls looking for direction. Whatever the reasons for the tarot card interpretation, the success of the reading relies solely on the abilities of the tarot card interpreter.
